Birdwatching in Bhutan, November 2011 1

During my official visit to Bhutan between 20 and 26 November, I spent a few days for birdwatching.  Although it was bit early to see most of winter migrants, I enjoyed birding there with several new species.

Birdwatching in Maioka Koen (13 November, 2011)

Winter migrants have started arriving.  Dusky and Pale Thrushes were often heard in the bush while Daurian Redstart perches on an exposed stick.  A male Mallard and female Green-wniged Teal were also seen in the park.

Birdwatching in Maioka Koen, (25 September, 2011)

Although I visited the park after a big typhoon passed, there were not so many passage migrants yet.  A Narcissus Flycatcher was calling weakly without appearing from the forest.
