Birdwatching in Choshi and Natsume-no-Seki (3 January 2021)

We spent about two hours to find Yellow-bellied Tits.  However, they were keeping high up in dense pine trees.  So, my photos are not better than the last time's shots.

There are small number of gulls and grebes.  Even Glaucous-winged and Glaucous Gulls were absent.

In Natsume-no-seki, we were able to see about 60-70 of Baikal Teals among a few hundreds of Mallard and Northern Pintail.

Observed species are as below.

Birdwatching in Choshi, Hasaki, Katori and Itako (13 December 2020)

Yellow-bellied Tit is a lifer for me.  It is rather small and restless.  So hard to shoot photos.  Besides the tits, there were very few birds.  Normally, about 10 species of gulls are seen.  However, only four species were seen.

In Katori and Itako, some raptors were seen well.

1. Gadwall 2. Eastern Spot-billed Duck 3. Northern Pintail 4. Common Teal 5. Common Pochard 6. Tufted Duck 7. Greater Scaup 8. Red-breasted Merganser 9. Black-necked Grebe 10. Great Crested Grebe 11. Oriental Turtle Dove 12. Pelagic Cormorant 13. Temminck's Cormorant 14. Grey Heron 15. Great Egret 16. Little Egret 17. Northern Lapwing 18. Ruddy Turnstone 19. Common Black-headed Gull 20. Black-tailed Gull 21. Mew Gull 22. Herring Gull 23. Black Kite 24. Eastern Marsh Harrier 25. Northern Goshawk 26. Common Kingfisher 27. Common Kestrel 28. Merlin 29. Bull-headed Shrike 30.
