Perhaps because it was the autumn migration period, numerous shorebirds could be observed in the rice-field areas. Although the Long-toed Stint is usually seen alone on Honshū, on the most productive day around fifty individuals were spotted.
Personally, I was particularly delighted to find both the Pintail Snipe and Swinhoe's Snipe.
