Birdwatching in Ose Beach, Amami (September 13-14, 2026)

 Ose Beach, located 15 minutes by car from Amami Airport, is well known as a spot for observing shorebirds.

I visited for two consecutive days and observed species such as Ruff, Long-toed Stint, and Pacific Golden Plover.

Birdwatching in Kin and Nago Rice Field (September 11-13, 2025)

 Perhaps because it was the autumn migration period, numerous shorebirds could be observed in the rice-field areas. Although the Long-toed Stint is usually seen alone on Honshū, on the most productive day around fifty individuals were spotted.

Personally, I was particularly delighted to find both the Pintail Snipe and Swinhoe's Snipe.
