Birdwatching in Shiga Kogen (June 2-4, 2024)

 

In June, the Shiga Kogen plateau was very beautiful with fresh greenery. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and rainy, but we were able to observe birds we had never seen before in Shiga Kogen, such as White-backed Woodpecker and Eurasian Treecreeper.

Bird and Butterfly Watching in Oku-Nikko (September 1, 2023)

 My first birding in Tochigi, after moving to Kanuma.  Probably, some of the summer migrants have left.  So, the forest in the Nikko National Park was rather quiet.  Tits and nuthatches were active though they were hardly seen.
