Birdwatching in Koga, Ibaraki (May 23, 2025)

A friend told me about the Ural Owl chicks, so I went to see them. It seems that the local people have been carefully watching over them, and there were ropes stretched around the tree where the nest was thought to be.

It seemed that only a few days had passed since the chicks had left the nest, and even though it was daytime, the chick, with much of their fluff still remaining, were actively climbing the tree trunk and moving from branch to branch.

Each of its movements was adorable, and although I had planned to stay for only a short time, I ended up staying for a while and never grew tired of watching it.
