Birdwatching in Southern Thailand (27-29 March, 2014)

During the 3 days birding, I was able to see about 90 species including 5 lifer species. Due to hot and humid climate without rain, pittas were not active. I wasn't therefore able to see Gurney's Pitta. However, 2 hawk-cuckoos, 2 frogmouths and 3 owls were seen very well.

3日間の滞在で合計約90種の野鳥を観察できたが、暑さの一方雨が降らず、ヤイロチョウ類はさっぱりで、かろうじてキマユヤイロチョウとマングローブヤイロチョウに出会えた。とはいえ、フクロウ類３種、カワセミ類３種、ガマグチヨタカ２種、ジュウイチ２種を撮影できたのは収穫だった。

Luckily, I was able to see both Okinawa Rail and Collared Scops Owl.

Birdwatching in Hanoi Botanical Garden (22 February, 2014)

A very small park but good place to see Japanese Thrush. Somehow, I saw only males.

小さな公園だが、ハノイ市内では数少ない緑地なのだろう、それなりに鳥が集まっていた。中でも、クロツグミ（約５羽）、クロウタドリ（３羽）は見もので、楽しめた。White-throated Fantailがこんな都市公園にいるのも初めて見た。
