Hi friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm Victor Gallego, a PhD student from Valencia (Spain).
Few days ago I arrived to Miura because I'm working about fish species in MMBS (Unversity of Tokio) during around of 3 months (from June to September).
I love birds (I'm a spanish bird-watcher!!) and recently I have discovered your amazing blog.
I'm interested to know/discover good places to see birds closed to my residence... where can enjoy in my spare time...
Do you know any "hot/interesting bird places" in the peninsula of Miura)?? I have a bycycle to can move in short distances ...
I have read many of his posts and probably in the next weekends I will visit the Maioka Koen, and other places which you recommend me...
Of course, if you want to share a birding-day with me...I'll be so happy!! the day would return in Spain :)
In advance, thanks a lot!!
and congratulation for your blog and specially, for your amazing pictures of birds and small criatures!!!
Victor

Hi Victor,
DeleteYou would be better to go to Johga-shima, to see seabirds and Blue Rockthrush or Morito River (Morito-gawa Rindo), near Zushi. A good place to see Japanese Green Woodpecker and Blue-and-White Flycatcher.
Enjoy your stay in Japan.
Hi.
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across your blog while looking for pictures of Chinese bamboo partridges - I needed to confirm if that was indeed the identity of the bird I saw on my way to work.
Anyway, I love your photos, and I've taken the liberty of adding your blog to my blogroll.
Best of birding to you.
